What's your story?

Late comer to competitive sailing previously an International Netball player. Hold dual nationality representing both Ireland (2016) and Team GB (2021/2024) at three Olympic Games in the 49er FX skiff class.

It has been an honour to represent my country at the Olympic Games but the pressing goal has always been gold.

What is the biggest lesson your sport has ever taught you?

We never stop learning. Always seek challenging environment’s to grow and develop. Surround yourself with extraordinary people who open your mind to what is possible…

What is your favourite song that helps you focus?

Anything other than Rock music!

If sailing hadn’t happened, where do you think you would be?

For sure in another sport discipline chasing my Olympic dream. I have learnt so much more from sport than I could ever have imagined.

What makes you Foolhardy?

The desire and tenacious attitude toward our Olympic sailing campaign pushing our limits and leaving no stone unturned in our performance.

To end everyday knowing we gave it our best shot!

What's your story?

I started sailing when I was about 8. We weren’t a sailing family and lived in the middle of countryside but my older sister tried sailing on a holiday and loved it so it got passed down the sisters until I started.

I’ve always loved sport and the competitive side of me always drove me to try to win at all times! After my youth sailing (becoming a ladies European champion and overall silver European medal), I got into the British sailing team at 18. I’ve been managing my university and sailing for many many years now but I’m so close now to becoming an Exeter graduate! Sas and I started campaigning about 4 years ago now. It was a huge opportunity for me to sail with Sas and to represent GB at Paris was a huge honour. Unfortunately, Paris didn’t go our way but we are back sailing and already seeing massive gains in our performance.

We are full focus on our Worlds in Cagliari in October.

What is the biggest lesson your sport has ever taught you?

I think the biggest lesson sailing has ever taught me is how to learn about myself.

In sport you have to be so willing to learn and understand what you need, how you can support your teammate and how to bring the version of yourself you need to be in racing. It’s taken me years of learning and I’m still not there yet.

What is your favourite song that helps you focus?

I don’t really have a favourite song or a “pump up” song but to be honest a bit of Taylor swift or some 2000s tunes would do!

If sailing hadn’t happened, where do you think you would be?

If sailing hadn’t happened, I think I would’ve been a lot quicker to finish university and probably living the London life! I have studied Politics and Philosophy at Exeter and I’ve always loved giving my opinion, so probably in field of politics!

What makes you Foolhardy?

I think what makes me Foolhardy is that I always push and never settle for just ok.

Sailing is also not just a sport against our competitors but also against the challenges of the conditions at sea, which makes everyday a new adventure.
